Probate & Trust Matters

We all suffer bereavement sooner or later and the form filing and bureaucracy that arises is often more than a bereaved relative can cope with.

P R Vince Solicitors can take on the whole process, on your behalf, and will explain all of the steps they are taking and keep you advised throughout.  Home visits are no problem, location permitting.

These are some of the things we can do help:

  • Take instructions and keep the Personal Representatives fully informed and advised throughout
  • Notify appropriate authorities of the death
  • Verify extent and value of the assets and liabilities
  • Liaise with HM Revenue & Customs in connection with Inheritance Tax, Income Tax and Capital Gains Tax
  • If required, organise the funding of Inheritance Tax
  • Obtain Grant of Probate of Grant of Letters of Administration
  • Cash in or transfer assets and pay outstanding liabilities
  • Distribute legacies in accordance with the Will
  • Finalise the administration of the estate and account to the Personal Representatives with a Statement of Funds 

 Trusts

Once the administration of an estate has been completed, we can act on behalf of the Trustees, to include:

  • Registering the trust with HM Revenue & Customs
  • Collating on an annual basis the information required to complete the Trust & Estate Tax returns
  • Make Tax payments
  • Make distributions from the trust to beneficiaries and prepare Tax Deduction Certificates
  • Prepare annual Trust accounts
